The movie originally staged as a series of 20 “choreopoems” centering on the life stories of a group of African-American women, For Colored Girls opened at the Public Theater on May 17, 1976 and transferred to Broadway’s Booth Theatre on Septemeber 10, running until July 16, 1978. Looks like this won’t be your typical “girl” movie with the predictable ending.

  1. first, LOVE your website! gonna stay around after I write this comment and see what you got going on here! :-)Next, I have to say that the trailer alone made me cry, I'm so ready to see this movie! I'm so happy for Tyler Perry and love all the haters who talk about his form of expression, sure all his movies haven't been the best but he proves that talent can be raw and rough, but it's talent none the less. It's a pleasure watching him develop and grow as a director and writer and I'm so ready to see this movie! I'm sure it's going to bless alot of folks! Hey ATL Go to Girl, this sounds like a multi-city event! A night on the town with a group of Colored girls, movie then dinner discussion! I'm game!
